Pool Remodelling

Pool renovation project 3

The purpose of this pool renovation was to create a relaxed and inviting space in order to encourage the whole family back into the garden again.

The exiting pool was squared off at both the western (1500mm) and eastern (900mm) ends to remove prominent curved corners which made the pool appear dated.  The stairs where carefully re-positioned to accommodate the reduction in size and for the new raised built in spa. The Spa is located at the eastern pool end and utilises some of the existing shell. An infinity edge opening allows water to flow into the pool, helping to unify and soften the transition between the pool and spa.

The pool and spa have been fully tiled in crisp white Amalfi glass mosaics. The tiles reflection gives the pool a beautiful turquoise blue colour that is complimented by large format Atlantic Stone paving which replaced the old terracotta pool capping and limestone surrounds. These additions help to lighten the space making it feel fresh and clean.

The old pool fence was re-positioned to a new location extending the pool area slightly to allow for the spa to sit comfortably. On the opposites side of the fence a permanent arrangement of fairy-lights draped over the seating area to create a warm and welcoming mood while playing a role in subtly separating the space from the pool area.  At the western end a mature Frangipani was transplanted providing a natural shade solution with its overarching canopy.
