Green walls come in all styles and sizes and are a great choice for those of us with a plant appetite that’s bigger than our horizontal plant space. This is one of our favourite Perth vertical gardens from recent years, the planting is soft, varied, and organic, accenting the other elements of this beautifully landscaped garden. Eclectic but well balanced, this small project is designed with care. A gleditsia triacanthos ‘shademaster’ extends through an opening in the bench. At it’s opposite end a custom water feature, which has by now developed a beautiful patina. The warm wooden bench lends itself to the garden’s scheme, picking up warm tones in the finishes and speckled throughout the planting, and contrasting with the cooler shades in the palette.
