TDL were engaged to design a subsequently construct an environmentally sustainable landscape setting for an Eco-Village Housing development in Port Hedland. The approach was to create a refuge from the harsh climatic conditions that characterise the North West. The central core of the development adopted an “oasis” feel with a selection of tropical plantings which thrive in those conditions. As you moved towards the periphery of the site the landscape took a more sustainable character, with native seeding and mature local trees defining the perimeter of this development.
