Perth City Library Green Wall

A high-impact, high maintenance piece, this green wall receives regular fortnightly maintenance, monitoring plant health, moisture levels, irrigation testing, weeding, and removal of dead leaves. The green wall is regularly pruned to promote plant growth and to allow sunlight to reach the lower levels of the structure. Constructed in a narrow gap opposite the City of Perth Library, the site presents challenges to the health of the plants that must be carefully monitored, and some of the plants have occasionally been replaced with different specimens to test their performance on the site. The beautiful structure is visible from the library’s interior, adding greatly to the experience of visiting.
